ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®
Site Visit

The ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® is the highest credential a healthcare organization can achieve. A Magnet designation indicates to patients and the public that these organizations have met the most stringent, evidence-based standards of nursing excellence in patient care delivery.

Methodist Charlton Medical Center was designated as a Magnet organization in 2021 by the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® and they are now applying for redesignation.

We invite patients, family members, staff, and other interested parties to provide feedback via email or direct mail.

•All comments must be submitted by July 3, 2026.
•Anonymous comments should be sent in writing to the Magnet Program Office.
Please note that ALL COMMENTS WILL BE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL and will not be shared with the organization.

Why is Magnet important?
Magnet recognition acknowledges the invaluable contributions of nurses in all healthcare settings and among all populations worldwide. It is a results-driven recognition that fosters nurse engagement and the role nurses play as interprofessional team members to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.

 


 

Magnet designation for Nursing Excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.


Maintained continued certification as a Level I Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons, one of four in Dallas County and the only one in southern Dallas.


Designated Epicenter for Robotic Surgery by Intuitive Surgical


The breast cancer program at Methodist Dallas received the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer accreditation with commendation.


Methodist Dallas is the only hospital in North Texas accredited as a National Pancreas Foundation Center of Excellence for both adult pancreatitis and pancreas cancer.

Industry-recognized apprenticeship nurse residency program with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Practice Transition Accreditation Program

Golden Cross Academic Clinic is recognized as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)


The rectal cancer program at Methodist Dallas received the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer accreditation with commendation.


Methodist Dallas is one of the only hospitals in North Texas to complete the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC)
